Call recording consent

Last updated: July 2026

Every call answered by a Contestadora IA agent is recorded and transcribed. That is how the Service works: recordings and transcripts power your call log, your appointment capture, and your quality review. This page explains who must give notice of that recording and how to do it.

What gets recorded

When your AI agent answers, we capture the full audio of the call, generate a transcript, and store metadata such as the caller's number, date, duration, and outcome. Recordings and transcripts are available to your team in the dashboard and are handled according to our privacy policy.

Who is responsible for the notice

Many states require that ALL parties to a call be informed of or consent to recording, including, but not limited to: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Washington. This list can change and some states have nuances — when in doubt, announce the recording. As the business owner, you are responsible for complying with the recording laws of every state your callers are in.

Using the greeting as the notice

Every agent's greeting automatically opens with a recording notice and an AI identification — on every call, in the agent's language. This is built in and always on: it is how we apply the strictest state rules by default. If a future setting allows customizing this notice, disabling any part of it will shift full responsibility for compliance to you.

If your call was recorded

If you called a business that uses Contestadora IA and want to access or delete the recording, contact that business directly — it controls its recordings. We act as its service provider and will help it fulfill your request.
